Jiman, getting engaged and moving house!

This somewhat old news now, but we were thrilled to be awarded second place in the Jiman manga competition 2008! I've just uploaded it for your viewing pleasure, take a looksee here!

The manga is up in the Japanese Embassy in London at the moment, along with some seriously awesome prize winners. It's a good hour or so to go take a look at them if you get the chance. It's also handily 10 minutes walk from the Japan Centre, agreat supermarket with discount sushi near closing time!

So, there's some major news on the life front as I've been too crap to update for several months... firstly, Steve (Dave)and I are engaged! He proposed on Christmas Eve in the place we first met. It was incredible. We havn't set a wedding date yet, it'll probably be next year in the summertime. Looks like we'll have a life together to come up with manga awesomeness!

Second big news is that we're moving house to Milton Keynes. it's a beautiful new flat, I'm so excited! less than a week in the old place.. i'll be a little sad to leave it. Some good memories (and a surrogate cat) but i hate living by myself, so i'll be really glad to live with my new fiancé!

Hopefully i'll get into the habit of posting a little more regularly... in the meantime if you have twitter i've just joined with username Katsideswide! Feel free to stalk me :D

An insane term at uni!

Wow. I can finally breathe out and slump back in my new floofy dressing gown. My first term at the RCA is over! I've been up to lots of exciting and time consuming things. Last week I made a chaise longe type chair (see here) inspired by "the visual language of Manga". I've never welded, upholstered or used a paint gun before so i'm ridiculously proud of myself!

I've also been working on Midori, my first handmade doll. His silicon moulds are done, finally, so i'm going to try a test moulding tonight. So exciting!

What with working at Game and making Christmas presents this year, i've kinda filled my time up with non manga things. But hopefully that should all change...

Dave and I have been planning a new and longer manga, codename "TDomS". We'd like to have the first chapter done by the end of January, in time to enter the 3rd International Manga Awards! I also have an ongoing colour manga to crack on with, hopefully tomorrow I can make some headway. Lots of hard work!

Also, i fixed the website. Woohoo! Thanks to Charlie for pointing it out to me!

I'd delighted to say that our manga "B+" has been chosen as the second place prize winner in this year's Jiman manga competition! See the results here!

So we win an awesome shiny laptop and gallery space at the Japanese embassy for February/March! So happy XD

Also, happy halloween! I should do something scary tonight. Maybe get drunk on green coloured drinks with smoke coming off them and do some creepy ass drawings... X3 (Oh! the terror!)
